Infant CPR Certification Matters

CPR is important. Learning how to administer CPR is equally important. But learning when to administer CPR is probably the most important lesson one can gain when learning CPR.

Men, in general, will always rush to the needs of others. But before you get into the scene and administer CPR on the person who needs it, you should always check if it is safe. If you do not, there may be a chance that you can be a victim yourself. Never administer CPR on a conscious person and a breathing person. CPR is needed when there are no signs of breathing. If there is, immediately call 911 for help.

It will generally be easier if it was an adult who needs CPR but what if it's an infant? Infants are more fragile. One strong compression can mean a broken rib for the baby. The steps are all the same except one must be gentler. One should take into consideration the size of the infant as compared to a fully grown adult. That is why one should always be careful not to tilt the baby head too far back. Use your two fingerprints instead of hands for the chest. And do not forget to call 911.

One can learn all this and more from an experienced licensed CPR instructor because nothing can beat an actual hands-on experience to learn CPR skills. Plus certification, including infant CPR certification, is an indication that you have been taught the skills of CPR administration.
